Case Studies: The Dutch Government

"This new ICT working environment will enable interdepartmental co-operation to be supported efficiently, manageably and securely. Through the joint administration that will be set up for the Gold Workspace, Gold will make a major contribution to the goals that were set in the national renewal program."
Jan Arnoud ten Cate, GOLD project manager Dutch Ministry of Finance

The Dutch Government comprises over 1,600 organisations and bodies, including 11 ministries, 12 provincial authorities and, since 1 January 2011, 418 municipal authorities, employing tens of thousands of people.

Locations

The Dutch Government has locations throughout the Netherlands. Central government is concentrated in and around The Hague. The parliament buildings in the city centre are the nerve-centre of Dutch political life.

Activities

The Dutch Government takes measures on countless matters from registering a birth to organising a funeral, from getting people into theatres to fighting serious crime. The Government enacts laws and enforces compliance with them.

Challenge

To create a working environment that is fully future-proof and in which employees can work together securely at any time and from any location.
